What is SMS Alerts?
SMS extends the HMS reminder engine with text-message delivery. Every automated reminder rule — appointment confirmations, follow-up prompts and other HMS notifications — can attach an SMS template alongside, or instead of, WhatsApp and email, so patients without a smartphone or WhatsApp account still get their reminder by text to their registered mobile number.
SMS is sent through Odoo's standard SMS Template layer, so it plugs into whichever SMS or IAP provider the hospital already has configured — including a low-cost local SMS gateway.
