Sale Order Revision – Track Every Version of a Quotation
Quotations rarely stay the same – prices change, quantities shift, customers ask for tweaks. In standard Odoo, editing an order over and over makes it hard to tell which version is current or what changed. This module adds proper revision control: one click creates a new numbered revision (SO005-R1, R2…), links it back to the original, and locks the old version so your history stays intact.
What Does This Module Do?
This module adds a clear, revision-controlled workflow to sale orders in Odoo. Sales teams often revise a quotation several times before it’s accepted, and standard Odoo makes it hard to track those changes or know which revision you’re looking at. Here, a “Revise Sale Order” button on the quotation lets you create a new revision in one click. The new revision is automatically numbered with a ‘-R’ suffix (for example SO005-R1), incrementing with each further revision, and carries a clear link back to its parent original order for full traceability. Once an order is revised, the original moves into a “revised” state that prevents it being confirmed or cancelled, so your historical data stays intact. You can revise quotations that are in draft or cancelled states, and every revision remains accessible from the Quotations menu.
Why Do You Need It?
