What is Purchase Order Revision?
Purchase order revision is the practice of treating each change to a PO as its own numbered version, rather than editing the original in place. When a quotation needs updating – different quantities, revised pricing, changed terms – this module lets you generate a new revision with a clear number, while preserving the previous version exactly as it was. The result is a documented trail: PO005 becomes PO005-R1, then PO005-R2, and so on, each one a distinct record you can refer back to. It brings structured version control to purchasing, so revisions are transparent instead of overwriting each other.
Why Do You Need It?
When a purchase manager revises the same order again and again, standard Odoo simply overwrites it – so there’s no way to tell which revision number you’re on, what the earlier terms were, or how the order evolved.
