This module adds a Gantt chart view to your Manufacturing Orders and Work Orders, laying them out as bars on a time axis so you can see the whole production schedule at a glance – spotting overlaps, gaps, and bottlenecks that a list simply can’t show. It brings the Gantt view to MRP, which isn’t available by default.
What is a Gantt View for Manufacturing?
A Gantt view lays records out as horizontal bars along a time axis, so you can see when each one starts, how long it runs, and how it lines up against everything else – the classic way to read a production schedule as a timeline. This module brings that view to Odoo Manufacturing: once installed, a Gantt view is added to both the Manufacturing Orders and Work Orders menus, where each order appears as a bar across the timeline. The result is a clear, at-a-glance picture of your production plan and how jobs are sequenced over time.
Why Do You Need It?
A list of manufacturing orders tells you what needs making but not how it all fits together in time – where jobs overlap, where the shop floor sits idle, and where a bottleneck is building. That makes it hard to plan capacity and keep production flowing smoothly. A Gantt timeline solves this by putting every order and work order on one continuous axis, so overlaps, gaps, and scheduling conflicts jump out immediately and you can plan with the whole picture in view. Importantly, Odoo doesn’t provide a Gantt view for Manufacturing out of the box, so without this module that timeline perspective simply isn’t available. Adding it gives your production planning a far more powerful, visual way to see and manage the schedule.
